If anyone's looking for hotel accommodation in Europe, I'll recommend www.booking.com. You will always be guaranteed the best deals, sometimes even better than what the hotel websites offer you!
As usual, booking.com did not disappoint us. We booked two nights with this business hotel, Hotel Bloom of funky and modern designs. The best part was we paid only 88 Euros per night, with breakfast and tax included! Our usual French chain Novotel was charging 120+ Euros/night for the weekend, without breakfast!
The kids were greeted by beads in the retro lobby when we arrived:
Bryan tucked in a scrumptious breakfast amidst a hall filled with designer pieces of furniture, just look at that spider-web-chair at the table behind Bryan:
The room is newly renovated, spacious, clean and quiet, even though the hotel is along the main street where the trams run:
Oh... these two bubble swings are the pure highlight! It's like THE playground for the kids. When we arrived on Friday evening, there were models and photographers working in this area:

WHoa! 88Euros?? How come my memory of Europe are of 300 Euro rooms? It sounds like we really should go to Europe for a holiday ...

Aiyoh... in the past, you flew business class, checked into Jr suites.... of course hotel was 300 Euro per night! Plus, if you come during the peak season during trade fairs or in the summer... expensive lor!

Wow, 88 Euros? makes me want to go to Europe NOW!! We want to plan a trip sometime in the future to Europe, maybe France and Germany, will definitely seek your advice then!

Just France and Germany, I'll recommend Novotel.
Go the website. Sometimes they have hot deals when you book a couple of months in advance. But thing is, no cancellation is possible then.
Novotel allows children to stay for free with parents. There's a wonderful sofa bed that springs out when you need it at night and can be tucked away during the day to make more space. My kids love it! Depending on location, room rates range from 80 to 125 Euro/night. Sometimes the deal comes with breakfast too.
